ROSSETT & UNDERWOOD HOUSE, BRADFORDSAY was awarded the contract to erect an independent access scaffold around the perimeter of two “Y” shaped blocks of flats in Bradford. To allow access for the main contractor to carry out a full refurbishment to the roof, replace windows, and install new insulation and render to the external of each block, each block required a 24m high scaffold with every lift fully boarded, and the external of the scaffold netted to the perimeter with protection fans over entrances and walkways.
Each block of flats required a 24.0m high scaffold with every lift fully boarded ... The scaffold was designed with 3.0m high lifts and SAY worked closely with the engineer to develop a scheme that used ready lock transoms which meant ledger bracing could be removed from each lift and give the main contractor clear access along each platform to handle and maneuver large sheets of insulation around the building. We also provided a 2ton passenger & goods hoist.
The successes of both these scaffolds lead to SAY securing the works on three further blocks for the same contractor.
